OLMSTED, Ill. -- Alvin T. "Abbey" Staten, 79, of Olmsted, died Monday, Nov. 28, 1994, at his home. He was born July 27, 1915, in Pulaski County. He was a retired mill operator at Golden Cat Corp. He attended Boaz Pentecostal Church. Survivors are his wife, Mary Helm Holmes Staten, of the home; one stepson, Bobby Whitehead, Karnak; two stepdaughters, Mary Underhile, Marion, and Kay Sharp, Vienna; 11 stepgrandchildren and 13 stepgreat-grandchildren...

OLMSTED, Ill. -- Alvin T. "Abbey" Staten, 79, of Olmsted, died Monday, Nov. 28, 1994, at his home.

He was born July 27, 1915, in Pulaski County.

He was a retired mill operator at Golden Cat Corp. He attended Boaz Pentecostal Church.

Survivors are his wife, Mary Helm Holmes Staten, of the home; one stepson, Bobby Whitehead, Karnak; two stepdaughters, Mary Underhile, Marion, and Kay Sharp, Vienna; 11 stepgrandchildren and 13 stepgreat-grandchildren.

Visitation will begin after 5 p.m. today at Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge. Service will be at 2 p.m Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. F.M. Speakman officiating.

Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery at Olmsted.
