SCOTT CITY -- Funeral service for Alvin Gene Harty Jr. of Scott City will be held at 3:30 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. The Rev. Jere Gowin will officiate, with burial in Lightner Memorial Cemetery.

Friends may call at the chapel after 1 p.m.

Harty, 43, died Friday, Oct. 18, 1996, at his home.

He was born June 8, 1953, in Oklahoma City, Okla., son of Alvin Gene and Esther May Northcutt Harty.

Harty had worked at the former Ely Walker Co.

Survivors include his father of Moline, Ill.; his mother of Scott City; a brother, David Harty of Bettendorf, Iowa; and paternal grandmother, Lula Corn of Scott City.
