JACKSON -- Funeral service for Alvin A. Borgfield of Jackson will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at McCombs Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Sam Roethemeyer will officiate, with burial in St. James Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today.

Borgfield, 84 years old, died Monday, Dec. 3, 1990, at Deal Nursing Home.

He was born March 4, 1906, son of William H. and Caroline Puchbauer Borgfield. He and the former Lillian Peetz were married Sept. 8, 1934, at Moro, Ill.

Borgfield farmed all his life, retiring in 1972. He had lived in Nebraska and Wolf Lake, Ill., prior to moving to Jackson. He was a member of Emanuel United Church of Christ; former member of Cape County Livestock Shipping Association and Cape County Farm Bureau.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Joan Runnels of Jackson Route 2; a brother, Willie Borgfield of Perryville; two grandchildren, Tammy Kelly and Renea Runnels of Jackson, and a great-grandson, Justin Kelly.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
