Altha I. Springer, 92, of Jackson died Monday, May 14, 2007, at Monticello House. She was born Dec. 26, 1914, at Daisy, daughter of Thomas G. and Nellie E. Linebarger Drum. She and Alvin Schlegel were married in 1933. She and Clarence F. Springer were married in 1954. He died in 1981...

Altha I. Springer, 92, of Jackson died Monday, May 14, 2007, at Monticello House.

She was born Dec. 26, 1914, at Daisy, daughter of Thomas G. and Nellie E. Linebarger Drum. She and Alvin Schlegel were married in 1933. She and Clarence F. Springer were married in 1954. He died in 1981.

Survivors include two daughters, Edna Mae "Babe" Grant and Stephanie Kaye Pender of Jackson; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother and a stepson.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to service time Thursday at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
