MINER, Mo. -- Alta Hyde, 85, of Miner died Monday, Sept. 6, 2004, at her home. She was born Feb. 12, 1919, in Fayette County, Ala., daughter of Charlie and Ethel Cox Garner. She and Tommy Hyde were married Nov. 11, 1934. He died Oct. 2, 1982. Hyde was a member of Parker Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church...

MINER, Mo. -- Alta Hyde, 85, of Miner died Monday, Sept. 6, 2004, at her home.

She was born Feb. 12, 1919, in Fayette County, Ala., daughter of Charlie and Ethel Cox Garner. She and Tommy Hyde were married Nov. 11, 1934. He died Oct. 2, 1982.

Hyde was a member of Parker Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Survivors include six sons, James and Albert Hyde of Wappapello, Mo., Eugene Hyde of Andrews, Texas, Walter, Jimmy and Ronald Hyde of Sikeston, Mo.; two daughters, Mary Hyde of Andrews, Linda Nierman of Sikeston; 37 grandchildren; 68 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons and a daughter.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston. The Rev. Joseph Hooper will officiate. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
