SIKESTON -- Alta L. Ellison, 82, of Sikeston died Sunday, March 21, 1999, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
She was born Jan. 3, 1917, in Callao, daughter of Clarence Calvin and Dona Jane Taylor Cavins. She and Luther Horace Ellison were married in 1936. He died in 1965.
Ellison had worked at Sikeston Ceramics, Capreco Inc., Tetra-Pac, and JCPenney Co.
Survivors include three sons, Kenneth and Jimmie Ellison of Sikeston, Billy Ellison of Arlington, Texas; two daughters, Wanda Laseter and Brenda Mitchell of Sikeston.
Also surviving are three sisters, Lela Hileman of Morehouse, Clella Reed of Sikeston, Beulah Ramsey of Edwardsville, Ill.; a friend, Roscoe "Bud" Hazel of Sikeston; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, four sisters, a grandson, and a great-granddaughter.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Dolan Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
