Alphonse Summers
LEOPOLD, Mo. -- Alphonse Clovis Summers, 49, of Leopold died Saturday, June 13, 2009, at his residence.
He was born Oct. 25, 1959, at Red Bud, Ill., son of Robert Sylvester and Therese L. Clovis Summers. He and Loretta Angel were united in marriage on Oct. 6, 1984.
Alphonse worked in a sawmill and on a riverboat and was a member of Barks Chapel.
Survivors include his wife, Loretta, of Leopold; a son, Christopher Summers of Leopold; two daughters, Monica (Glenn) Bollinger of Marble Hill, Mo.; Patricia (Joel) Aldridge of Winfield, Ala.; three sisters, Janet Smithers, Marilyn Summers, Jocelyn Doiron, all of Oak Ridge; and a granddaughter, Cheyenne Bollinger.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Barks Chapel Baptist Church, with the Revs. David Kempher and Dewayne Kirkpatrick officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery near Whitewater.
