ANNA, Ill. -- Alma L. Garris, 70, of Anna, died Sunday, June 21, 1992, in a hospital in Vincennes, Ind. She was born April 4, 1922, in Wolf Lake, daughter of DeWitt T. and Augusta M. Kimmel Gregory. She married Beckford Garris in 1945 in Carbondale. He preceded her in death...

ANNA, Ill. -- Alma L. Garris, 70, of Anna, died Sunday, June 21, 1992, in a hospital in Vincennes, Ind.

She was born April 4, 1922, in Wolf Lake, daughter of DeWitt T. and Augusta M. Kimmel Gregory. She married Beckford Garris in 1945 in Carbondale. He preceded her in death.

Garris was retired from Florsheim Shoe Co.

Survivors include two daughters, Sondra Heckes of Granite City, Dianna Holcomb of Anna; a son, Mark Garris of Anna; her mother of Vincennes; three sisters, Margaret Bray of Centralia, Betty Wallace of Big Rock, Tenn., Wanda Wallace of Vincennes; three stepdaughters; three stepsons; nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Norris and Son Funeral Home in Jonesboro after 5 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with burial in Jonesboro Cemetery.
