SCOTT CITY -- Alma Alice Blankenship, 91, of Scott City died Thursday, Aug. 26, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born April 20, 1908, in Scott City, daughter of David Joseph and Barbara Susan Montgomery Brant. She and Edgar Lee Blankenship were married Feb. 25, 1925, in Scott City. He died Sept. 3, 1951.
Blankenship was a lifelong resident of Scott City, and a member of Wesleyan Memorial Methodist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Robert Blankenship of Jacksonville, Fla., Kenneth Blankenship of Benton, Roy Blankenship of Scott City; a daughter, Ruby Fowler of Jacksonville Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Lucille Lance and Goldie Collier of Scott City; 43 grandchildren; 77 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four sons, two daughters, six brothers, four sisters, and three great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. Rennie Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Memorial Cemetery.
