Alline Joy VanBlargan, 75, of Spencerville, Ohio, died Thursday, July 20, 2006, at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima, Ohio.
She was born July 11, 1931, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Lloyd John and Ruby Allene Watkins Cunningham. She and Marvin VanBlargan were married June 15, 1952. She was raised in Cape Girardeau.
Mrs. VanBlargan was a homemaker and farmer. She had also been a substitute teacher for Spencerville schools.
She was raised Baptist. She was a high school graduate and attended college two years. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star, and enjoyed fishing, crafts, and painting china plates and ceramics.
Survivors include two daughters, Cynthia "Cindi" (Don) Nester of Elida, Ohio, Marvellee (Doug) Kissling of Atto, N.M.; nine grandchildren, Erik Stevens, Lacy (Jason) Frederick, Sarae (Kevin) Brubaker, Nathan Brock, Amy Nester, Chris Nester, Richard Kissling, Nikki Thompson, Chad (Mae) Crum; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Eric John VanBlargan.
The funeral was held July 24 at Harter and Schier Funeral Home in Delphos, Ohio, with the Rev. David Howell officiating. Burial was in Hartford Cemetery in Spencerville.
