McCLURE, Ill. -- Allie Mae Hill Hoover, 77, of McClure died Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010, at her home.
She was born March 14, 1932, in Denver to James B. and Della Patterson Hill. She married Norman Hoover on October 19, 1984.
Hoover graduated from Southeast Missouri State University and worked as an accountant.
She was a member of McClure Baptist Church, Past Worthy Grand Matron of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 522 at Anna, Ill., and Caledonia Chapter 587 at Olive Branch, Ill. She also participated in many other community activities in and around McClure.
She is survived by her husband, Norman; two daughters, Connie Ward and Shari (Paul) Guard, both of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Bob (Peggy) Hill of McClure; a sister-in-law, Lucille Hill of Springfield, Mo.; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Fletcher B. Hill.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Monday at Crain Funeral Home, 829 N. West End Blvd., Cape Girardeau, and from 9 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at McClure Baptist Church.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with the Rev. Randy Morgan and Bro. Bill Joyce officiating.
Burial will be in Lindsey cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to McClure Baptist Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
