Allene Helderman, 85, of Bell City, Mo., and formerly of Jackson, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2006, at her daughter's home where she has been residing since 1998.
She was born Aug. 5, 1920, in Neely's Landing, daughter of the late Harry and Alpha Warren McClard. She and Paul Helderman were married March 12, 1940. He passed away Oct. 6, 1976.
Mrs. Helderman worked at the former International Shoe Company more than 20 years, retiring in 1974.
Loving survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Jerry Busby of Bell City; a son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Kay Helderman of Jonesboro, Ark.; three grandchildren, Kimberly (Chad) Maddox, Darrin (Bobbie) Helderman, and Ashley Helderman; three great-grandchildren, Jordyn and Jessica Maddox, and Alexis Helderman; two brothers, John and Pete McClard both of Jackson; a sister, Irene Hodge of Jackson; several stepgrandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by four sisters, a brother, and a great-granddaughter.
Friends may call today from 5 to 8 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
The funeral will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Steve Shepherd officiating. Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
