PUXICO -- Allen Landers, 19, died Thursday, Oct. 30, 1997, in an airplane crash near New Berlin, Ill.

He was born Feb. 5, 1978, in Dexter, the son of Darlene Blackmore and Albert "Sonny" Landers. His father was also killed in the airplane crash.

On April 23, 1996, he married Kristy Uthoff in Puxico. He had been a resident of the Puxico and Wappapello area all his life and was employed by the Steward & Sons Construction Co. of Holcomb. He was affiliated with the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Puxico.

He is survived by his wife, of the home; his mother and stepfather, Darlene and Michael Blackmore of Rockville, Ind.; a brother, Travis Landers of Wappapello; two half brothers, Cody and Jody Blackmore, both of Rockville; his maternal grandparents, Charles Gillum of Wappapello and Lucy Gillum of Fisk; and his maternal great-grandmothers, Goldie Gillum and Geneva George, both of Puxico.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 today at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico. Joint funeral services with his father will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at the funeral chapel, with Pastor Marvin Glass officiating. Interment will follow in Elder Cemetery near Malden.
