SIKESTON -- Allen L. "Buck" Carmack, 81, of Sikeston died Saturday, Dec. 19, 1998, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

He was born Jan. 11, 1917, at Cardwell, son of William and Ella Reeves Carmack. He and Laverne Finney were married on Aug. 5, 1939, in Essex.

Carmack served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was a carpenter and worked for Himmelberger-Harrison Manufacturing Co. in Morehouse and E.C. Robinson Lumber Co. in Sikeston.

He attended Taylor General Baptist Church in Essex.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Charles "Sonny" Carmack of Essex and Dennis Carmack of Sikeston; four daughters, Vernice King of Sikeston, Sandra Nations of St. Charles, Ill., and Kathy Williams and Kim Malloy, both of Essex; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, two brothers, two sisters, a half brother and a grandson.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel. The Rev. Jerry Pennington will officiate, with burial in Matthews Cemetery in Matthews.
