MORLEY -- Retired Col. Allan L. Swaim, 80, of Des Moines, Iowa, died Sunday, June 25, 1995, at Mercy Medical Center.
A native of Morley, he was reared in Sikeston, and had lived in Des Moines since 1963.
Swaim retired from the U.S. Army in 1966, and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He then was a real estate broker in Des Moines many years.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, West Des Moines Chamber of Commerce, Down Town Kiwanis Club, Des Moines Association of Realtors, Retired Officers Association, and was a former president of Fidelity Warehouse.
Survivors include his wife, Norma; three sons, Col. Allan Swaim of Belleville, Mike Swaim of Des Moines, Jim Swaim of Iowa City, Iowa; a daughter, Ann Eisenhauer of Bettendorf, Iowa; a brother, Lynn Swaim of Sikeston; two sisters, Virginia Hall and Margaret Stonebrook of Melbourne Beach, Fla., and 11 grandchildren.
Friends may call at Westover Funeral Home in Des Moines from 6:30-8:30 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Church. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va.
