Alida H. Koeberl, 87 of Jackson passed away Friday, Dec. 30, 2011, at the Monticello House in Jackson.
She was born Oct. 2, 1924, in New Wells, daughter of Arthur and Helene Koenig Mirly. Her mother passed away soon after her birth, and she was raised by her stepmother, Rufina Meyr Mirly. Alida and Elmer Koeberl were married April 16, 1950. He passed away April 20, 1995.
She was an active longtime member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Pocahontas. She loved gardening, needlework and making delicious coffee cakes.
Loving survivors include a son, Dennis (Doris) Koeberl, and two daughters, Darlene (Jerry) Petzoldt and Kathy (Rick) Saupe, all of Jackson; five grandchildren, Kristy (Mike) Kennon, Kara Koeberl-Freeman (Andrew James), Justin (Mindy) Petzoldt, Brandon (Valerie) Petzoldt and Daniel (Stephanie) Leimbach; two step-grandchildren, Jesse (Sara) Saupe and Amber Saupe; seven great-grandchildren, Michael and Madison Kennon, Zoe Freeman and Kevyn James, Austin and Autumn Petzoldt, Lydia Leimbach; two great-stepgrandchildren, Gavin and Blake Saupe.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Arnold and Walter Mirly.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson, and from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Pocahontas.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with Pastor Bruce Ritter officiating. Interment will follow in St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials be made to Southeast Hospice or St. John's Lutheran Church in Pocahontas.
