Alicia Lee Godbey, 62, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2005, at her home. She was born Dec. 7, 1942, at Malden, Mo., daughter of James Aldon and Anna Lee Williams Hamlett. She and Melvin Larry Godbey were married March 27, 1970, at Portageville, Mo. He died June 13, 2002...

Alicia Lee Godbey, 62, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2005, at her home.

She was born Dec. 7, 1942, at Malden, Mo., daughter of James Aldon and Anna Lee Williams Hamlett. She and Melvin Larry Godbey were married March 27, 1970, at Portageville, Mo. He died June 13, 2002.

Godbey was a member of Lynwood Baptist Church.

Survivors include four sons, Jim Godbey of Parma, Mo., Jon Godbey of Chattanooga, Tenn., Rodney Godbey of Cape Girardeau, Lawrence Godbey of Louisville, Ky.; a brother, the Rev. James Hamlett of St. Ann, Mo.; and 10 grandchildren.

A service was held Friday at First Baptist Church in Risco, Mo., with the Rev. Gene Lancaster officiating.

Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden was in charge of arrangements.

Friends may call at Stitz Funeral Home in Kentland, Ind., from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Kentland. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery in Kentland.
