AFFTON, Mo. -- Alice E. Radake, 87, of Affton, formerly of Scheller, Illinois, passed away Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born April 6, 1927, in Scheller, daughter of Theodore and Verna Klingler Witges. She and Henry J. Radake were married June 12, 1948, in Scheller. He preceded her in death April 17, 2009.
Alice was a member of St. Barbara Catholic Church in Scheller. She loved fishing, gardening and going to casinos.
Survivors include two children, Michael Radake and wife Vicky of Cape Girardeau and Cheryl Jordan and husband Steve of Cook Station, Missouri; four grandchildren, Nicole Meadows and husband Bryan of Bellville, Texas, Ashlee Mattingly and husband Ryan of Herculaneum, Missouri, Kyle Radake and wife Ashley of Cape Girardeau, and Amy Ladenberger of Brentwood, Missouri; a brother, Leo Witges and wife Helen of Scheller; six great-grandchildren, Kiersten Meadows, Maygen Meadows, Devin Bartlett, Annalise Mattingly, Layton Mattingly and Wesley Radake; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers, Richard, Leonard and Charles Witges; and two sisters, Hilda Kowalski and Dorothy McKay.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin, Illinois, and from 9 a.m. until time of service Monday at St. Barbara Catholic Church. The rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m. today.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be in St. Barbara Cemetery.
Friends may make memorials to St. Barbara Cemetery and will be accepted at the funeral home.
