BLYTHEVILLE, Ark. -- Alice Mickie Lipscomb, 85, of Blytheville died Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2005, at her home. She was born May 19, 1920, in Bandana, Ky., daughter of Raymond R. and Monita Denham Michie. BLYTHEVILLE, Ark. -- Alice Mickie Lipscomb, 85, of Blytheville died Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2005, at her home.

She was born May 19, 1920, in Bandana, Ky., daughter of Raymond R. and Monita Denham Michie.

Mrs. Lipscomb was a longtime Blytheville resident and a member of First United Methodist Church, where she was active with First United Methodist Women.

She was a graduate of Arkansas State University, was a retired teacher, and was named to Who's Who in Outstanding Elementary Teachers of America. She was a former member of Delta Kappa Gamma, voted Arkansas' Outstanding Beta Sigma Phi of the year, member of Blytheville Woman's Club, and member of Daughters of the American Revolution.

Mrs. Lipscomb leaves her husband, Robert A. "Bob" Lipscomb of Blytheville; two daughters, Linda Lou Moore of Paragould, Ark., Sarah Lipscomb Blanz of Little Rock, Ark.; a son, Robert Raymond Lipscomb of Jonesboro, Ark.; and three grandchildren, Wesley, Ryan and Raymie Lipscomb.

She was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather, D.C. Pafford.

The family will receive visitors from 1 p.m. until service time Sunday at First United Methodist Church in Blytheville.

The funeral will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the church, with the Rev. Jim Rowland officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

Cobb Funeral Home of Blytheville is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church Good Samaritan Fund, 7th and Main Street, Blytheville, Ark., 72315.
