ROCHELLE, Ill. -- Alice M. Koehler Leander, 78, of Rochelle passed away Friday, July 30, 2021, in Rochelle.
She was born Sept. 17, 1942, in St. Louis to Lawrence F. and Emma L. Koehler and grew up on the family farm near Jackson.
She was a 1960 graduate of Jackson High School. She spent most of her adult life in the Rochelle area with life partner Howard "Moose" McBride, who preceded her in death earlier this year.
Alice is survived by her brother, Larry (Beverly) Koehler of Jackson; niece, Paige Silverstone of Evergreen, Colorado; and four nephews, Kris Koehler of Fort Collins, Colorado, Eric Koehler of Evergreen, Aaron Koehler of Aurora, Colorado, and Zachary Koehler of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Also surviving are stepnieces, Jenifer Craiglow and Sara Blechle, both of Oak Ridge; nine great-nieces and -nephews; stepdaughters, Marlene Moss, Joan Smith and Barb Kemp; stepson, Dennis McBride; and "the best dog ever," Pepper.
Internment will be in Lawn Ridge Cemetery in Rochelle with a private memorial service for family at a later date.
