WEATHERFORD, TEXAS -- Alice Ellen Cargle, 78, formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Friday, Feb. 24, 2006, in Weatherford, following a prolonged illness.
She was born June 22, 1927, in Robbs, Ill., daughter of Roy and Carrie Googe. She and Jennings Buford (J.B.) Cargle, a former postal worker, were married in August 1950. He died Oct. 7, 1971.
Cargle lived in Cape Girardeau most of her life. She and her husband were members of the First Baptist Church of Cape Girardeau for many years where she worked in the church's nursery department. Later she was a home health-care worker and also worked as a cook for Agri-Trans barge lines on the Mississippi River. She moved from the Cape Girardeau area in 2001 to be near her daughter.
Survivors include her daughter, Alice Ann Seabaugh, and son-in-law, Lonnie Wayne Seabaugh of Azle, Texas.
She was preceded in death by several sisters and brothers.
Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. There will be no visitation.
A graveside service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday, March 3, at Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau with the Rev. Cy Smith officiating.
