SCOTT CITY -- Funeral service for Alfred Simon Hartle of Scott City will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church. The Rev. Terry Eades will officiate, with burial in Lightner Cemetery.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Scott City after 5 p.m. today.
Hartle, 84, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 1993, at his home.
He was born Jan. 6, 1909, in Cape Girardeau County, son of Robert M. and Emma Farrow Hartle. He and Wilma A. Miller were married July 14, 1934, at Benton. She died May 4, 1968.
Hartle had worked for Gerhardt, West Lake Quarry, and had also been self-employed. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include five sons, John Hartle of Virginia Beach, Va., Richard Hartle of Houston, Texas, George, Charles and Craig Hartle of Scott City; six daughters, Wanda Griffin and Patricia Hartle of Houston, Martha Malang of Honolulu, Hawaii, Sarah and Mary Hartle of Scott City, Wilma Lively of Sand Springs, Okla.; a sister, Ada Drexler of Scott City, and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
