BLOOMFIELD, Mo. -- Alfred Joseph "Joe" Ryan, 71, of Bloomfield died Thursday, July 13, 2000, at Dexter Memorial Hospital in Dexter, Mo.

He was born Jan. 22, 1929, at Sikeston, Mo., son of Tom B. and Ida Mae Williams Ryan. He and Charlene Holifield were married June 29, 1950. She preceded him in death.

He was self-employed as a commercial painter. He had lived in Sikeston and Rochester, N.Y., before moving to Bloomfield.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda Terry, address unavailable; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two sons, a daughter, four brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be after 9 a.m. today at Blanchard Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. today, with the Rev. Dennis Gregory officiating. Burial will be in Bloomfield Cemetery.
