Alfred Graham

PEKIN, Ill. — Alfred E. Graham, 67, of Pekin died Saturday, April 5, 2008, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Ill.

He was born June 21, 1940, in Cape Girardeau, son of William E. and Agnes Stallings Graham. He married Shirley Behr in October 1960 in Cape Girardeau. He later married Frances L. Glasford Nov. 26, 1980, in Manito, Ill.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Debra Biery of Hoffman Estates, Ill., Connie Edward Sondag of Minooka, Ill.; three stepsons, Robert Funk of West Newbury, Mass., Steve and Greg Funk of Pekin; 13 grandchildren; and a sister, Pauline Kinder of O'Fallon, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and five brothers.

Graham was a U.S. Air Force veteran.

He worked for OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria 17 years, retiring in 2002 as a maintenance technician. He worked out of Laborers Local 231 in Pekin many years. He also was the owner of G&W Builders in Manito.

He was a member of Pekin Moose Lodge 916, and attended Saint John's Lutheran Church in Pekin.

The funeral was held April 9 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home in Pekin, with the Rev. Mark A. Miller officiating. Burial was in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin, with military rites conducted by the U.S. Air Force and Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team.
