DEXTER -- Alfred Acord, 75, of Dexter, died Sunday, Oct. 29, 1995, at Dexter Memorial Hospital.
He was born Nov. 2, 1919, near Morehouse, son of Van and Ida Webb Acord. He and Betty Snider were married June 9, 1951, in Piggott, Ark.
Acord moved to Dexter in 1959 from Charter Oak. He retired from Swift and Co., where he worked 16 years. He was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Jerry Acord of Dexter, Stanley Acord of Bloomfield, Stephen Acord at Ft. Leonard Wood; three daughters, Jeanette Layton, Irma Sanders and Laura Acord, all of Dexter; a sister, Delsie Bishop of Eau Claire, Mich.; 10 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Friends may call today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with M.C. Moore officiating. Burial will be in Hagy Cemetery at Dexter.
