Alberta G. Ross, 93, of Cape Girardeau passed away Monday, March 25, 2013, at Ratliff Care Center.
She was born May 11, 1919, in Idalia, Mo., daughter of the late Albert and Edith Reeves Tate. She and Hubert Lee Ross were married in 1939 at Bloomfield, Mo. He preceded her in death Nov. 25, 2009.
Alberta lived in Dexter, Mo., most of her life. She moved to Jackson in 1983. While in Dexter, she and her husband owned and operated Ross' Sporting Goods Store. She was a member of Lynwood Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting and spoiling her grandchildren.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Valentine of Jackson; a son, Eddie Lee Ross of St. Louis; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; other relatives; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Melvin Tate and Harold White; and two sisters, Ellen Heaton and Norma Lee Brown.
Graveside service will be at 11:30 a.m. today at Hagy Cemetery in Dexter, with the Rev. Kevin Coffey, associate minister at Lynwood Baptist Church, officiating.
