PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Albert Ray Unterreiner, 62, of Perryville died Friday, May 4, 2007 at home.

He was born April 10, 1945, in Cape Girardeau, Mo., son of P.G. "Pete" and Irma Unterreiner. He and Sharon Kemna were married July 19, 1969, at St. Maurus Catholic Church in Biehle, Mo.

Unterreiner was retired from Martin Marietta Aggregates, where he worked as a heavy equipment operator and safety coordinator. He also retired from the Missouri Army National Guard as a 1st Sergeant.

He loved his family, his friends and the Missouri Army National Guard. Unterreiner was an avid sports fan and loved to watch the St. Vincent Indians and St. Louis Rams (when they were winning!). He also enthusiastically attended many soccer, softball, baseball and basketball games and dance recitals for his grandchildren. In recent years he took up golf and was working on developing his pitch shot. He enjoyed getting together with his family and friends and especially loved a good party.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon; a daughter and son-in-law, Brian and Angela Unterreiner Winschel and their children, Caroline, Emma and Elizabeth of St. Louis; two sons, Aaron of Cape Girardeau, Tim and daughter-in-law, Dana Gebhardt Unterreiner and their children, Tyler, Addie and Grace of Perryville; a sister and brother-in-law, Reverend Kenneth and Carole Unterreiner Wade of Enid, Okla.; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Sandra (Kemna) Sauer, George and Debbie (Kemna) Fox, Roger and Ann Kemna and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Tom Sauer.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville.

The funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

Burial will follow at St. Maurus Catholic Cemetery in Biehle, Mo. with full military honors.

Memorials may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul High School football program, the Association of the Miraculous Medal or St. Margaret Alacoque School in St. Louis.
