Albert L. Heuring, 96, of Cape Girardeau passed away Wednesday, Dec 26, 2018, at the Lutheran Home.
Albert was born June 2, 1922, to Bernard and Regina Glueck Heuring.
After graduating from grade school, he went to work on the family farm. He served in the military in Okinawa as a medic on the front lines. Upon discharge from the service, he went to work at Marquette Cement Plant, where he retired.
On June 27, 1942, he married the love of his life, Carma N. Wills. She preceded him in death Nov 14, 2018.
Albert enjoyed square dancing, traveling, reading westerns, playing Word Search and trout fishing. He embroidered baby quilts for all of his great-grandchildren.
Albert is survived by sons Gene (Judy) Heuring of Cape Girardeau, Dean (Ruth) Heuring of Pomona, Missouri, and Rick (Jan) Heuring of Jackson; daughters Sharon Poole of Farmington, Missouri, and Monica (Ivan) Stein of Mesa, Arizona. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and six great-stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife parents, four brothers, three sisters and a daughter-in-law, Debby Heuring.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City. Parish prayer service will be at 6:45 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. Michael Casteel as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Scott City, with full military honors.
