PADUCAH, Ky. -- Albert Timothy Daniels, 75, of Paducah passed away, Monday, Feb. 15, 2016, at Lourdes Hospital. PADUCAH, Ky. -- Albert Timothy Daniels, 75, of Paducah passed away, Monday, Feb. 15, 2016, at Lourdes Hospital.

Born on Dec. 29th, 1940, in Covington, Tennessee , he was the son of William Albert "W.A." Daniels and Avis Blanche Smith Sloan. For 32 years he was married to Judy Ann James Daniels (born Aug. 28, 1947), who passed away Aug. 18, 2002.

Tim had an exciting career in broadcasting. As a disc jockey, he was known as Dr. Dan Daniels, air personality. He also worked as a program manager and marketing representative in the broadcast industry. His unique voice was heard on many on-air commercials.

His career started in 1953 as he helped usher in the birth of rock 'n' roll. Some of the greats he rubbed elbows with were Elvis, Jim Croce, Dolly Parton and others. Albert was a genuine, caring individual, with a winning smile and sweet spirit that brought joy to everyone he was around. He was a true pioneer and staple member of the rock 'n' roll genre throughout the South and Midwest. Albert played the first Beatles recording in this area just weeks before their "Ed Sullivan Show" appearance.

Tim was a member of the Masonic Lodge Number 127 in Paducah and in 1992 held the position of master. He enjoyed cooking, fishing and spending time with his family.

He is survived by a son, Michael Christopher (Rebecca) Daniels of Paducah; three daughters, Ayesha (Mike) Gassaway of Phoenix, Charisa (Brent) Fiser of Benton, Kentucky, and Tracina Daniels of Murphysboro, Illinois; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Dawn Rogers, of Atlanta.

His parents and a brother, Bill Daniels, preceded him in death.

A memorial service will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Salt & Light Community Church, 155 Pugh Road in Paducah.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service Saturday at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill, Missouri,

A memorial service will begin at noon Saturday at the church. Inurnment will be in McGee Chapel Cemetery.
