Albert Hillemann

Albert D. Hillemann, 82, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Scott City, died Friday, March 6, 2009, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

He was born June 26, 1926, in Scott City, son of Martin and Anna Hardin Hillemann. He and Kathryn Lois Ellis were married Jan. 1, 1947, in Scott City. She died April 25, 1984.

Mr. Hillemann managed the family farm in the Scott City area and had worked for Tate Industry in Cape Girardeau. He also was a independent subcontractor in construction. He retired in 1995. He belonged to Eisleben Lutheran Church in Scott City, where he was a former elder and Sunday school superintendent.

He was a past member and president of Scott City School Board and former board member of Illmo Special Road District.

He is survived by two daughters, Sharon (Mark) Schlitt of Oran, Mo.; Susan (Bill) Simmons of Scott City: a sister, Virginia Joop of La Salle, Ill.; seven grandchildren, Craig (Rachael) Ancell, Brandon (Casey) Hillemann, Alisha (James) Hennecke, Kadi Ancell, Lynette (Mark) Jones, Shae Simmons, Carley Schlitt; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a son, Jerry G. Hillemann, on Nov. 9, 1998.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. until the service time Tuesday at Eisleben Lutheran Church.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Eisleben Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Wayne Schwiesow officiating.

Burial will be at Eisleben Lutheran Church Cemetery in Scott City. Memorials may be made to Eisleben Lutheran Church.
