KELSO -- -- Albert William "Bill" Compas, 69, of Kelso died Saturday, Nov. 22, 1997, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born Oct. 22, 1928, at Sikeston, the son of Edward J. and Hermina J. Dumey Compas. He married Evelyn Aline Burns on June 12, 1948, at Benton.
He was a tractor operator for Laclede Steel in Alton, Ill., and a member of the Steel Workers Union.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Albert W. Compas Jr. of Bunker Hill, Ill., and Ronald L. Compas of Omaha, Neb.; a daughter, Charlotte A. Stephan of Belleville, Ill.; a sister, Laura Holt of Benton; and six grandchildren.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Benton from 4:30 to 8 p.m. today.
A private family funeral will be held.
