SIKESTON, Mo. -- Dexter Alan Britton, 44, of Sikeston died Thursday, Oct. 7, 2004, at his home. He was born May 28, 1960, in Sikeston, son of Robert Dee and Carol Lemmons Britton. Britton had been a helicopter mechanic with DynCorp Inc. in Fort Campbell, Ky. He was founder of Silveregal Country and Western Band and was an Elvis impersonator. SIKESTON, Mo. -- Dexter Alan Britton, 44, of Sikeston died Thursday, Oct. 7, 2004, at his home.

He was born May 28, 1960, in Sikeston, son of Robert Dee and Carol Lemmons Britton.

Britton had been a helicopter mechanic with DynCorp Inc. in Fort Campbell, Ky. He was founder of Silveregal Country and Western Band and was an Elvis impersonator. He formerly attended Crowder Church of Christ and Shady Acres Church of Christ. He was formerly of Woodlawn, Tenn.

He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Persian Gulf War.

Survivors include a son, Robert Britton of Bolivia, N.C.; his father, Robert Britton of Sikeston; his mother and stepfather, Carol and George Smith of Sikeston; three brothers, Mike Britton of Sikeston, Jay Britton of Cape Girardeau, Joe Britton of Whitesboro, Texas; two sisters, Pam Rapert of Whitesboro, Janet Davis of Sikeston; and paternal grandmother, Pauline Britton of Bell City, Mo.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel Monday from 11 a.m. until service time.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the chapel, with the Revs. Woodrow Phillips and Cletus Lemmons officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery with full military rites by Missouri Military Funeral Honor Guard.
