James Albert "Al" Hornbeek, 86, of Jackson passed away Monday, Nov. 12, 2018, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born May 25, 1932, in Jacksonville, Illinois, to Russell and Mabel Suter Hornbeek.
He and Paula Jean Maynard Willis were married Nov. 14, 2000.
He served in the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include his wife, Paula Jean Maynard Willis Hornbeek of Jackson; a daughter, Cheri Lynn Hubert of Jacksonville, Illinois; a son, James A. (Gayla) Hornbeek Jr. of Jacksonville; two stepsons, Gene (Jill) Willis of Tennessee and Timothy (fiancee, Erica Johnson) Willis of Jackson; five grandchildren, Hope Willis of Alabama, Sarah (fiance, Ben Spiecker) Willis of St. Louis, Wyatt Alexander Willis of Jackson and Brian and Christopher Hornbeek of Jacksonville.
Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2 p.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Jackson.
Funeral will follow at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bruce Baxter officiating. Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
Memorial contributions may be given to Wounded Warrior Project.
