CAIRO, Ill. -- Al Gray, 62, of Cairo died Saturday, July 20, 1991, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born July 9, 1929, at East St. Louis, Ill., the son of Albert J. and Katharine Jestus Gray. On June 16, 1955, he married Betty Steward, who survives of Cairo.
He was a dispatcher for Waterfront Services in Cairo, a veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Cairo Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2649. He also was a member of the Laborer's International Local #773 of Cairo, the Cairo Masonic Lodge and the Kim Shrine.
Survivors include two daughters, Jami Latham and Cindy Holmes, both of Cairo, and four grandchildren, Emilie and Christopher Latham and Lindsay and Kyle Holmes, all of Cairo.
He was preceded in death by a son.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. today at the Crain Funeral Home in Cairo, where funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday. The Rev. Sean Redford will officiate, and burial will be in the Green Lawn Memorial Gardens.
