Funeral service for A.J. Alcorn of Hurst, Texas, was held Tuesday at Greenwood Chapel Funeral Home in Ft. Worth, Texas. Burial was in the chapel cemetery.

Alcorn, 65, died Saturday, Oct. 17, 1992, at All Saints Hospital in Ft. Worth.

He was born March 27, 1925, at Dexter, son of Esco and Lucille Stokes Alcorn. He first married Betty Strain, who preceded him in death.

Alcorn attended pharmacy school in St. Louis, and later owned a pharmacy in Ft. Worth. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Nora; three sons, Michael Alcorn of St. Louis, Terry and Randy Alcorn of Ft. Worth; a daughter, Delanie Jones of Seattle, Wash.; his mother of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Helen Birk of Cape Girardeau, Lyla Mullins of Farmington; two stepsons; a stepdaughter, and six grandchildren.
