BERTRAND -- A.E. Belt, 86, of Bertrand, died Sunday, Dec. 1, 1991, at Bertrand Retirement Home. He was born April 3, 1905, at Carrsville, Ky., son of George L. and Pearl Stoops Belt. He and Elizabeth Thompson were married Feb. 28, 1938, at Carrsville. She died Aug. 23, 1989...

BERTRAND -- A.E. Belt, 86, of Bertrand, died Sunday, Dec. 1, 1991, at Bertrand Retirement Home.

He was born April 3, 1905, at Carrsville, Ky., son of George L. and Pearl Stoops Belt. He and Elizabeth Thompson were married Feb. 28, 1938, at Carrsville. She died Aug. 23, 1989.

Belt was a carpenter and cabinet maker, and member of Christ Gospel Church.

Survivors include two sons, Louie and Kenneth Belt of Sikeston; a stepdaughter, Maxine Bailey of Pleasant Hill, Calif.; a brother, Lincoln Belt of Carrsville; a sister, Laddie Manhart of Hampton, Ky.; 10 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter and two grandchildren.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery at Sikeston.
