Adelia C. Meier, 89, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2006, at the Lutheran Home. She was born Dec. 30, 1916, at Burfordville, daughter of William and Bertha Feuerhahn Sander. She and Walter Meier were married June 20, 1936 at Tilsit. He died July 7, 1971...

Adelia C. Meier, 89, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2006, at the Lutheran Home.

She was born Dec. 30, 1916, at Burfordville, daughter of William and Bertha Feuerhahn Sander. She and Walter Meier were married June 20, 1936 at Tilsit. He died July 7, 1971.

Meier was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid Society at Tilsit.

Survivors include two daughters, Loretta and Lyle Reynolds, and Saundra and Howard Reece, all of Cape Girardeau; a son, Hubert and Bernice Meier of Joplin, Mo.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Herbert Sander; and a grandson, Greg Reece.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 11, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Fred Mark Boettcher officiating.

Interment will follow in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
