Ada Lee Buchheit, 67, of Cape Girll. -- Mary Esther Qualls, 85, of Grand Tower died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 1999, at The Abbey of Carbondale.
She was born Aug. 30, 1914, at Gorham, daughter of Henry and Ellen Reeder Lindsey. She and Charles C. Qualls were married Dec. 22, 1930, at Gorham. He died Aug. 31, 1975.
Qualls retired as a cook at Shawnee Schools. She had also been a cook at Ma Hale's Restaurant. She was a member of Grand Tower Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Marge Parker and Betty Glodo of East Cape Girardeau; a son, Donald Qualls of Alto Pass; a sister, Rose Qualls of Du Quoin; a brother, William Lindsey of Kewanee; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, four sisters, two brothers, two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Friends may call at Meredith Funeral Home in Grand Tower after 5 p.m. Friday.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Don Grammer officiating. Burial will be in Walker Hill Cemetery.
