JACKSON -- A.D. Hoffman, 74, of Jackson died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 1999, at his home.
He was born Jan. 11, 1925, at Charleston, son of J.R. "Jack" and Imogene Vinyard Hoffman. He and Carmen Mainer were married Aug. 11, 1950.
Hoffman was a graduate of Central High School in Cape Girardeau. He worked in the family business at the former Coca-Cola Bottling Co. in Cape Girardeau from 1940-72. He owned and operated Wib's Drive-In in Jackson from 1972 until retiring in 1985. He was a member of Jackson Elks Lodge.
He served with the U.S. Army in Japan in World War II and in the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Judy Rodriguez of Norcross, Ga.; a son, A.D. Hoffman II of Jackson; three brothers, Robert Hoffman of Cape Girardeau, Carl Hoffman of St. Louis, Jack Hoffman of Richmond, Va.; two sisters, Judy Bland of Turlock, Calif., Mary Pollard of Sacramento, Calif.; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 6-8 p.m. today.
Graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Russell Heights Cemetery. Elder Charles Thurman will officiate.
