Abbie Snider

ANNA, Ill. -- Abbie A. Lacy Treese Snider, 103, of Anna died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2008, at the home of her granddaughter. She was born May 3, 1905, in Makanda, Ill., daughter of William R. and Rosabelle Tippy Lacy. She and Horace L. Treese were married June 3, 1923. He died Jan. 27, 1953. She later married Otho Snider Sept. 17, 1956. He died Dec. 7, 1963...

ANNA, Ill. -- Abbie A. Lacy Treese Snider, 103, of Anna died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2008, at the home of her granddaughter.

She was born May 3, 1905, in Makanda, Ill., daughter of William R. and Rosabelle Tippy Lacy. She and Horace L. Treese were married June 3, 1923. He died Jan. 27, 1953. She later married Otho Snider Sept. 17, 1956. He died Dec. 7, 1963.

Snider was a member of Jonesboro Methodist Church. She was a cook many years at Union County Hospital and Nursing Home.

Survivors include a granddaughter, Karen Poole of Anna; two grandsons, Gerald and Ronald King of Anna; a stepdaughter; two stepgrandchildren; three great-stepgrandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, a son, a stepson, three brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Crain Funeral Home in Anna.

Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Zeigler Cemetery, with Ron Leske officiating.
