Fall fashions with a French flair will be on tap for the 19th annual Zonta Fashion Show.

The "Evening in Paris" show will be held Monday, Sept. 29 at the Holiday Inn Convention Center. Dinner and cocktails begin at 6 p.m. The fashion show starts at 7:15 p.m.

All tickets are patron tickets this year. The $35 price includes dinner, a complimentary beverage and the show. To order tickets contact Renee Tlapek at 314-808-0002, which is a toll-free number, or Charlotte Robinson at 335-0391.

Stephanie Kasten with the Zonta Club said about 350 people are expected to attend. The fashion show is one of the club's major fund-raisers.

"It's nice because all the proceeds go back to Cape Girardeau," Kasten said.

The show includes fashions for children and adults.

Children's clothes will be modeled from All American Kids, Children's Bazaar and Boys' Corner.

Adult clothing will be modeled from Casual Corner, Sandy's, Hartford's Apparel, J. Katherine Formal Wear and Hecht's.

"The finale of the evening is Hecht's traditional fur extravaganza," Kasten said. "They bring furs in from the East Coast for the show. It really is an exciting part of the show."

During the evening an array of prizes will be raffled off.

Raffle tickets may be purchased for $1 or six for $5. To win the top prizes, individuals must be present.

The grand prize is an original jewelry design, valued at $1,000, from C.P. McGinty Jewelers.

Also as part of the evening's festivities, the Southeast Missouri State University dance squad, the Sundancers, will perform.

Since the Zonta Club was chartered in 1976, club members have raised over $130,000 for contribution to community and international projects and members of the club have donated over 26,000 service hours.

Proceeds from the fashion show go entirely toward projects which promote literacy in Southeast Missouri, Kasten said.
