A 13-year-old Cape Girardeau youth suffered serious injuries when a go-cart he was driving collided with a parked truck.
Brandon Harris of 2902 Bernice is listed in very serious condition at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
Cape Girardeau police say Harris lost control of the go-cart while traveling north on Bernice Street, struck a the front of a parked car and slid underneath the vehicle.
Authorities say Harris was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
While responding to the Bernice Street accident, Cape Girardeau traffic patrolman William "Sonny" Kincade, operating a police motorcycle, suffered injuries when his motorcycle and a van collided at the intersection of Perryville Rd. and Bertling.
Kincade was traveling north on Perryville, with emergency lights and siren activated. The van, driven by Antoinette Scott, 21, of 1620 Bertling, was traveling west on Bertling.
Authorities say the van had stopped at the intersection, but then turned into the path of the motorcycle, which struck the van in the left side.
Kincade received injuries to his back and left leg and foot. He is listed in stable condition at Southeast Missouri Hospital. Scott received a minor injury to one knee.
