No one filed for several races in Scott County, but workers in the county clerk's office were busy Wednesday tallying write-in votes.
Chaffee
In Ward 2, Bob Sullivan won a seat on the board of aldermen with 55 votes. Janice Martin came in second with 38 votes and Shirley Childer third with 33 votes.
Also garnering votes as write-in candidates were Wayne Hampton, nine votes; Bonnie Rister and Shirley Hinkle, two votes each; and Tim Cannon, Ruth Cunningham, Jane Baker, Hal Rice, Shirley Roberts, Charles Robinson, Norm Gribler, Larry Martin and Bill Sullivan, one vote each.
In Ward 4, Jack Nordin was elected to the board of aldermen with 51 write-in votes. Brad Bader garnered 34 votes, and winning one vote each were Kenneth Davie, Jim Nordin, Tom Cunningham, Bill Daugherty, Charles Daugherty, Clarence Daugherty, Larry Mott and Clifford Pobst.
Commerce
Jerry Wright won a one-year unexpired term on the Commerce Board of Trustees with 20 write-in votes. Coy Vetter and Brenda Hammers won two votes each, and Billy Goddard and Bob Kight, one vote each.
Blodgett
No one filed for one of two seats up for grabs on the Blodgett Board of Trustees, but Richard Riley won it with 26 write-in votes. Also in the race were Dana Deason, winning nine votes; Mike Riley, three; Linda Cantrell and Randy Ziegler, two each; and Don Riley, Ruby Hurst, James Wagner, James Colbert, P.A. Scudder and Clyde Watson, one each.
Morley
Ed Ulmer won a two-year seat in Blodgett's 1st Ward, garnering 15 write-in votes. Also running were Jeannie Williams, four votes; Lisa Lewis, three; and Bill Dollins, Darrick A. Bruce, Hallie Granville, Ronnie Reeves and Q.C. Ingram, one vote each.
Diehlstadt
Two candidates tied for one of three seats available on the board of trustees. Terra Slayden and Raymond Hannah each won three write-in votes. Village officials will determine which candidate takes office.
Barbara Shelby and Terry Pemberton won seats on the board with seven and five votes, respectively.
Also garnering write-in votes were C.L. Morrow, Grover Morrow, Jerry Canter, David Slayton and Vanessa Shankle, each with two votes, and Teri Slavings and Donnie Pullum, each with one vote.
Haywood City
There's a four-way tie for one of three seats up for grabs on the Haywood City Board of Trustees. Curtis Avance, Ollie Batts, John Ford and Roosevelt Johnson each won three votes. Village officials will determine who takes office.
John Avance and Louise Wiley won seats on the board with seven and four votes, respectively.
Also receiving votes were Grenda Andrews and Ed Andrews, two votes each, and Connie Hamilton, Glenda William, Roger Bank, E.J. Jackson, Mike Hamilton, Paul Johnson, Patty Burton, Kelly Campbell and Tim Monroe, one vote each.
