Corey Steven Wright, 15, of Cape Girardeau has achieved the honor of Eagle Scout.

He received the Arrow of Light before becoming a Boy Scout in May 1988 and joining Troop 2. He earned the First Class Scout and the Star Scout awards.

After achieving the rank of Life Scout in February 1990, Wright served as troop guild and patrol leader. He was also chosen to be a member of the Order of the Arrow.

Wright's service project for his Eagle Scout honor was re-sculpturing the landscaping beds in from of Cape Girardeau Central High School.

He and 56 other scouts from the Southeast District were honored by the Southeast Missouri Council as the Edward D. Robertson Jr. Class of Eagle Scouts.

Wright is a member of Grace United Methodist Church and Grace Youth Group. He attends Central High School and is a member of the CHS Marching Band, Jazz Band, Student Council and Beta Club.

He is the son of Steve and Kathy Wright of Cape Girardeau.
