Ivan Mikhalyuk, 17, was driving west early Friday when the truck swerved off the road and slammed into a bridge abutment in north Springfield.

The victims are of Russian descent, Springfield police spokesman Matt Brown said. Their parents don't speak English, so police were working through an interpreter.

The three are believed to have been en route to Oklahoma.

Police suspect fatigue may have been a factor, but the investigation was continuing, Brown said.
