Through an upcoming series of workshops to be held throughout the state, the Missouri Department of Agriculture is trying to help producers develop new markets and enhance existing ones.
One of the workshops will take place at the Cape Girardeau County Extension office in Jackson on Feb. 24.
"Whether you're interested in developing a farmers' market or enhancing an existing one, you should plan to attend the workshop in your area," said Deanne Hackman, director of the department's Division of Ag Business Development, which is sponsoring the workshops along with the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Missouri Farmers' Market Association.
Registration for one of these workshops is $10 per person and must be received by Feb. 14.
To register, contact Sarah Shultz, business specialist with the Missouri Department of Agriculture, at (573) 522-9213 or Sarah_Shultz@mail.mda.state.mo.us, or visit www.aginnovationcenter.org.
