MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- A breakfast workshop to be held in Marble Hill Tuesday is designed to help Bollinger County workers find employment as well as help them with transportation to and from the workplace.

Following an 8:30 a.m. breakfast sponsored by Partners for Transportation at the United Methodist Church in Marble Hill, June O'Dell of the Workforce Investment Board of Southeast Missouri will conduct a workshop on how to fill out job applications, dress for a job interview and improve interviewing skills.

Those planning to attend must have a Breakfast Coupon. These are available at the East Missouri Action Agency, at 405 Union in Marble Hill.

On Tuesday, Jan. 14, and Thursday, Jan. 16, those who attended the workshop will be taken on tours of potential employers in Cape Girardeau and Advance, Mo. On Tuesday, a van will pick up people in Marble Hill and take them on a tour of Thorngate Inc., Workforce Inc. and Havco in Cape Girardeau. Lunch will be provided.

On Jan. 16, prospective workers will tour Miracle Recreation, Shaffer Power and VTG in Advance.

This breakfast, workshop and the tours will be paid for by the Workforce Investment Board. The board also plans to start a regular transportation route from Marble Hill to Advance or Cape Girardeau workplaces every day, with routes expanded as more jobs are filled.
