SIKESTON, Mo. -- As work to replace the Route H overpass near Blodgett, continues, Interstate 55 will be reduced to one lane with a 16-foot width restriction. The restrictions will be in place on northbound and southbound I-55 at mile marker 71. Completion of the Route H overpass is anticipated in mid-August. A section of I-55 was closed to traffic over the weekend for the demolition of the overpass, but the road is now open. Signs and warning devices will mark the work zone, and motorists are urged to use extreme caution while traveling near the area.
