Residents and organizations in Southeast Missouri received $199,325 in fraternal assistance from Modern Woodmen of America in 2002. Through various volunteer programs, camp and youth members conduct service projects to meet the needs of their communities.

In 2002, services included insulating a single mother's home in Millersville; raising $5,000 to benefit a Jackson resident diagnosed with cancer; providing a child identification program in cooperation with the Cape Girardeau Police Department; raising over $5,000 for new computers in Kelly School District; planting flowers throughout Morley, Mo., as a community betterment project and conducting free blood pressure and sugar screenings in conjunction with Southeast Missouri Hospital.
