London Makae Cureton was born Nov. 25, 2005. She is the daughter of Ashley and Roger Vance and Bobby Cureton. She has six siblings, Faith, Jaxson, Reese, Vegas, Benjamin and Chester. She is involved in Beta Club, FBLA, FCCLA, FCA, Pep Club, yearbook, volleyball, basketball, and track and field.
Three words she would use to describe herself are attitude, athletic and boujee.
If she could travel anywhere in the world, she would go to Italy.
Cureton's favorite teacher is Ms. Braswell, who has inspired her to stay true to her beliefs while succeeding in life. Her favorite high school memory is a tie between winning the basketball district championship for the third time in a row her junior year and finally winning the homecoming dance her senior year. And her most embarrassing high school moments were scorpioning over at both home volleyball and basketball games and everyone thinking she broke her neck.
One staff quote that has stuck with her throughout high school is "Londy Lou, where have you been?" by Jill, Lauren and Lotte.
When Cureton was a child, she dreamed of becoming a pediatrician. Now she plans to attend Missouri State University in Springfield to pursue a degree in nursing and become a certified registered nurse anesthetist.
Her advice to underclassmen is, "Live in the moment and make memories with the important people surrounding you because four years of high school fly by faster than you'd think."
Cureton's mom has had the greatest influence on her, supporting her in every decision she has made and guiding her in the right direction when she needed it.
Her biggest accomplishment so far is winning Missouri Beta vice president.
SHOUT-OUTS: "Mom, dad, siblings, Aunt Laurie, Nana, Papa, Grandpa Roger, the Ridings, the Wilkinsons, the Kooks, Rebekah, Jarid, Kolby and Beej."
Brea Makenna Baker was born May 11, 2006. Her parents are Laura Randen and Brandon and Chelsea Baker. She has three siblings, Landon, Essie and Dane Baker.
Her favorite teacher is Mrs. Layton for being the "best advisory mom." Her favorite staff quote is, "No matter what place you all get, you're still first in my heart" from Mrs. Hinkle during HOCO Week.
Three words that describe Baker are passionate, ambitious and studious.
Her favorite school memory is when she and Korbin were the only people breaking it down on the dance floor without a care during junior prom. Her most embarrassing memory is when she walked into class the first day of her freshman year wearing a yellow mask that coordinated with her outfit, and no one else was wearing a mask.
When Baker was a child, she wanted to be a doctor. Now she plans to attend Saint Louis University to major in neuroscience and work toward becoming a surgeon.
She participates in FBLA, FCCLA, FCA, Beta Club, Pep Club, Cardinal Pride and volleyball. Her advice to underclassmen is, "Never let anyone else's opinion of you alter how you view and treat yourself. Be and love yourself."
The people who have had the greatest influence on her life are her parents. Her mom taught her how to be independent and strong-minded, her dad taught her how to work hard and have a courageous soul, and her stepmom taught her that mistakes do not define who she is and that she can do hard things.
Her biggest accomplishment in life is getting accepted into every college she applied to, including SLU, her No. 1 choice.
SHOUT-OUTS: "My parents, siblings, Korbin, the Kinder family and grandparents, Grandpa Howard, the Kooks, Sara, Mr. and Mrs. Layton, Beej and Jillian."
